line

There are various Yoga Teacher Training courses in Rishikesh, India. 50-hour yoga teacher training is one of the preferred choices for performers who want to be prepared in a few time. It is open for foreigners/ Europeans and Indians too. These training methods are a way to expand the Philosophy and practice of Yoga across lands.
It originated in India, and Gheranda Samhita is the ancient text for yoga and its Knowledge. Then it travels with master souls to different continents and spreads there in the form of art and daily practices. There are various methods of representing yoga, and these methods have different names.

Yoga Definition & Its Types

Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word “yuj”, which means to unite or to join. These words are not only about physical or body level, it is about energy and frequency. Yoga is both a philosophy and a practice. When it is seen in correlation with the anatomy and physiology of the body, it is given the name holistic science.

Types of Yoga

Based on the practices and philosophy behind the practice of Yoga, it has 10 types. Some of them are not directly related to the ancient Indian form; they were later expanded. The local arts in various countries are named accordingly, e.g. Yin Yoga. All types of Yoga have a single purpose, which is the alignment of body, mind, and spirit. Here are the types of yoga according to various formal and informal texts:

  • Hatha Yoga - It is a slower pace yoga and good for beginners. It focuses on the physical pose and breathing practice of yoga, good for maintaining daily discipline.
  • Raj Yoga - It is also practised according to the Astanga Yoga of ancient Yoga. It emphasises meditation and mind control with the help of poses and focusing on a single point. It is also known as the “Royal Path” to unite with ourselves.
  • Bhakti Yoga - This is the path to god and does not involve physical practice; it is based on devotion to god and mantra chanting. Devotion towards the deity with all the heart is the only path to follow, based on the philosophy of Yoga.
  • Karma Yoga - It encourages performing duty without attachment and a selfless act from the heart. It is also mentioned as the only path to salvation in the Bhagavad Gita (Ancient Veda of Hinduism).
  • Jnana Yoga -It is based on the deep self-inquiry by putting up a question, and based on the path of knowledge. The path of wisdom and knowledge with which we can interrogate ourselves is known as Jnana Yoga.
  • Kundalini Yoga - There are some dynamic practices along with mantra chanting and meditation, which are known for awakening Kundalini Shakti. It is believed that there is high energy in the form of a serpent present in the navel of every person. This energy could be awakened by Hatha Yoga and meditation.
  • Vinyasa Yoga - There are some dynamic practices along with mantra chanting and meditation, which are known for awakening Kundalini Shakti. It is believed that there is high energy in the form of a serpent present in the navel of every person. This energy could be awakened by Hatha Yoga and meditation.
  • Iyneagar Yoga - It is first empowered by BKS Iyengar and is associated with the alignment and precision in Yoga poses. It uses small tools like props and blocks during the practice of yoga.
  • Ashtanga Yoga - A dynamic and physically engaging form of Yoga is mentioned in the Gheranda Samhita and ancient texts. It is also referred to as the eight limbs of yoga.
  • Yin Yoga - It is slow in pace and targets the flexibility of the body. It targets the deep connective tissue of the body, which increases flexibility with increased practice.

TTC is referred to as a Teacher Training course, which is an intensive session of 24 or 25 days. This gives authorisation for learning or instructing yoga in various courses and training sessions.

It depends on the availability of the aspirant. If you are free for 25 days, then it is best that you take a 500-hour training course for teaching others. Otherwise, there are other options like 50-hour YTT and 200-hour YTT.

RYT or Registered Yoga Teacher from the Yoga Alliance is the best certification to practice and instruct yoga to others. It is widely recognised for instructing people in yoga training.

RYT certificate, which gives authority to train a person in the yogic field, never expires. Other certifications give recognition but not training authority, and they don’t expire either.

The 50-hour yoga teacher training course has several slots in Om Shanti Om Yoga Ashram. If you have a simple learning purpose, then it is a better course in less time. You can also check the 200, 500 and 100-hour teacher training courses in the same centre.
